With the ENSEMBLE LYRIQUE Simon Schouten realized his idea that singing is an essential basis and inspiration for all music-making. Rossini's Petite Messe with the original cast of twelve singers was not only a great success in the great halls of Holland, but also in the Wiener Musikverein and in Graz. This production was the beginning of various programs with which the ensemble delighted its audiences for years.
